The Europrivacy Certification Scheme is extensible for addressing complementary national and EU regulations by using Europrivacy criteria extensions. These extensions provide additional criteria and can lead to the deliverance of a complementary certifications, which can be combined with your existing or upcoming Europrivacy certification. It is a time- and cost-efficient way to reduce your risks with other regulations.

EU Regulations Extensions

• ePrivacy Directive ExtensionDirective 2002/58/EC on privacy and electronic communications. For websites and electronic communications services, including use of cookies and similar tracking technologies, processing of traffic and other location data, and direct marketing. 
• Data Act ExtensionRegulation (EU) 2023/2854 on harmonized rules on fair access to and use of data. For data related to interconnected systems, products and services, such as Internet of Things and machine to machine communication. 
• Data Governance Act Extension Regulation (EU) 2022/868 on European data governance. For data sharing and data intermediation services.

Interprivacy

Interprivacy is the geographically neutral version of Europrivacy. It is aligned with major international and regional data protection regulations to reduce risks and facilitate national and international data transfers.
